PARC Foundation and the Alpine Experience annual "Youth and Outdoor Benefit Auction"
Since 2004, The Alpine Experience and PARC Foundation have come together annually to sponsor the Youth and Outdoor Benefit Auction. Held in late spring (April/May), 100% of this auction’s proceeds benefit the Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and Thurston County Parks and Recreation Departments. In the past four years, this partnership has raised over $70,000. These funds support summer and winter recreational activities by providing discounted program fees and scholarships for youth in Thurston County.
Lively auctioneering performances are given by Joe Hyer and Jeff Kingsbury. Put your bid in with others on hundreds of items donated by the suppliers of The Alpine Experience such as Solomon Shoes, Smartwool socks, North Slope Apparel, Dahlgren, and Hilleberg Tents. Local businesses that donate include Bud Bay Cafe, Capital Playhouse, Stihl North West, J&I Power Equipment, Olympia Coffee Roasting Company, Warehouse Rock Gym, and Fish Brewing Company. Items include apparel, outdoor equipment (backpacks, sleeping bags, skis, kayaks, etc.), books on camping and outdoor recreation, dinners for two, theater tickets, and much, much more! We’re so passionate about seeing kids in Thurston County experiencing positive, healthy recreational activities, we’ll even auction the shirt off of Joe’s back!
So come enjoy tasty food and beverage while bidding along with friends, family, and co-workers. Leave a legacy of recreation “for the KIDS!”
