The PARC Foundation partners with each public Parks and Recreation Department in Thurston County. The PARC Foundation requested that departments provide a list projects, or activities they would like to have funded. If you see an item(s) you or your group would like to fund you can contact the department directly to discuss the possible donation or you contact the PARC Foundation. The PARC Foundation will then work with you or your group regarding the possible donation. | |
Parks and Recreation ProjectsHistorical Kiosk: This project would be at Wanschers Park on Hicks Lake and would include building the structure and plaques that describe the resort history of the park. Estimated Cost: $9,000 ADA Pool Lift: This would be a mechanical lift to assist people with disabilities into the Timberline swimming pool. Estimated Cost: $12,000 Aluminum Bleachers: There is a need for five row bleachers with guardrails for the parks. Estimated Cost $3,000 per set Site Furnishings and Pads: This project would include creating a concrete pad with the additional equipment of a picnic table, barbeque, and trash receptacle. Estimated Cost: $5,000 per picnic pad Miniature Skate Park: This includes design of a skate facility for beginners that would be located in neighborhood parks. This includes a cement pad with the modular skate park elements. Estimated Cost: $75,000 Picnic Shelter: This would be the standard city design hexagonal picnic shelter that accommodates 8 to 10 picnic tables. Estimated Cost: $65,000 Playground Facility: This would be for the development of a playground area that includes equipment for elementary and preschool age children including a safety surface and perimeter retaining wall. Estimated Cost: $140,000 Park Restroom: This would be the standard city design, four (4) stall restroom. This is s split face brick structure, metal roof, center maintenance chase and stainless steel fixtures to help reduce vandalism. |
