Community Projects

The mission of the PARC Foundation of Thurston County is to promote donations for both facilities and programs to serve Thurston County residents in the areas of parks, arts, recreation, and culture.

We are an entirely volunteer, 501(c)(3) organization with experience and contacts in our mission areas. Our board of trustees includes members of the parks and recreation or arts and culture advisory boards of Thurston County, Lacey, Tumwater, and Olympia.

Our volunteers further our mission in a number of ways, including:

1. Personal advocacy to individuals and groups who may wish to donate for local PARC facilities and programs.
2. Consulting with individuals and groups who need help in making a contribution.
3. Distributing lists of projects for which our partner organizations currently seek funding.
4. Serving as a fiduciary for the fund-raising efforts of organizations whose efforts align with our mission.
5. Maintaining an endowment that will some day support local projects.
6. Pointing groups toward resources to support their fund raising efforts.
7. In addition, some individual board of trustee members may decide to assist some groups in their fund raising campaigns for specific projects.
